In Kalimantan - blog assault cometh!

I am now living in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, near Tangkiling village, 36 km north of the capital, Palangkaraya.

I've been settling into my house, writing everyday, doing a little teaching (film/animation)at a secondary school here, riding the 'transmigrasi roads' and canoeing the surrounding jungled rivers and waterlands.

I am preparing for another 'BLOG assault' by Feb. 20, 06.

--------------------
The Comments Section:

A couple of people have emailed me a little confused about the comments section. So to be clear: No, that is not me posting within the comments section as 'Colonel Pumpy'. It is, I do agree, a little tiresome, and it may be time for this chap to get his own blog up and running under an original name and even more desirable, an original subject.

Cheers, and thanks for the comments - appreciated.

Hello there! I just wanted to tell you that my husband and I are currently in Kota Bharu, Malaysia and will have completed cycling up the East coast per your posted route (mostly) by tomorrow as we will be crossing into Thailand. Our plan is to cycle up the East coast of Thailand and eventually into Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. We are first time cycle tourists and are thoroughly enjoying it! Thanks for the inspiration and information from your website. I've also read a good portion of your blog and have enjoyed that as well. Just thought I'd say thanks and cycle on!

Hi

I`m a fellow Aussie working in Japan teaching English. Giving my students posts from your Cambodian adventure for reading practice, crude language and all. Its good stuff. Just wanted to offer some encouragment to finish your blog. What happens...does Mr Pumpy get kidnapped by muslim extremists in Pakistan and beheaded live on Al Jazeera TV? The world needs to know.

Hi ... I knew what Mr Pumpy looked like - a blockhead ie rectangular head :-) and today is the first time I've seen Mr Felix ...

We kinda lost touch; the last I heard you were on a boat with some Germans?

So, you're now in Indonesia. Apa khabar?

I'm thinking of riding in Laos. I came across your blog here when I was searching for cyclists who prematurely went to the big bike store in the sky while in Laos.

Dear mr Felix,

We have been cycling around the entire world since 1969. (see our website: www.worldcyclists.info The last 15 years or so mainly on trips of maximum 3 months (China, SouthEast Asia), we are planning a trip in Indonesia on Sumatra and Kalimantan, but we cannot find any information about roads or tracks in Kalimantan. Could you give us some information, maybe also about connecting possibilities between Sumatra and Kalimantan and between Kalimantan and Singapore.
Thanks very much
Nelly and Henny Barelds (already a bit elderly)
